STEVE BURNETT VIOLIN MAKER

As an established, well respected Edinburgh based maker of violins, violas and cellos my work and craft is based on the long time forgotten art of instrument making practices of the golden age 18th century Italian makers.

 

After many years of research and detective work, I pride my making skills and products as an honest interpretation of the work seen and heard in these early Italian workshops. My aim as a maker is to make my violins, violas and cellos in the spirit of old Italian instruments right down to old organic resins and oils varnish recipes.

 

My instruments are known for their old mature /natural look and tone and are used by fine players in both folk and classical circles.
