Steve Burnett Violins
As a professional Scottish violin maker based in his central Edinburgh workshop. Steve builds his violins, violas and cellos in the classical Italian tradition. His main influences are Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù (the maker of Niccolò Paganini's famous violin), Matteo Gofriller, Domenico Montagnana as well as others. His main aim is in re-creating as much of the classical Italian spirit, both in tone and looks using traditional methods and materials. Before any orders are placed he always discusses the players requirements for tone and instrument size. He very much believes in keeping prices affordable for those talented players who can't otherwise afford either an old instrument or many of the modern instruments made today. His instruments are being played more and more by leading professional players both in UK and abroad. Steve Burnett is also an established Piano tuner/restorer.
